War Museum (2/1/09)

We apologize for not taking more pictures at the War Museum, but it was strikingly graphic and depressing. The tone of the exhibits was incredibly anti-American. Instruments of war on display, loads of world wide propaganda registering nearly every country's disdain for our involvement. And then ... the grim pictures of war's toll on the people. Pain, suffering ... you name it. It was essential, but incredibly difficult to take in. In particular, the section devoted to the use of Agent Orange was ... vivid. Embalmed fetuses with defects, pictures of burns and abnormalities. We were sick to our stomachs.

Anyhoo, here are some pics of war vehicles.

  1. The Hall of Propaganda is making me think. I wasn't QUITE aware that there had been such a vocal consensus about the immorality of our "cause" in SE Asia during the Vietnam War. If we earned such a bad reputation then, what must the world think of us now? I'm already finding myself apologizing for The Bush Years Of Our Lives when in my cups over here in Europe.
