I would highly recommend flying first class on Thai Airways if you have an 18 hour flight to tackle! The food was great, the staff was amazing (even writing down their favorite spots in Bangkok for us) and the seats were pretty comfortable. Check me out in the fully reclined position just before we landed (I look pretty refreshed after 18 hours!)
The seats do go almost 180 degrees flat, but are not parallel to the ground necessarily. So you look a bit like a mummy propped up under a blanket when you're sleeping.
